Review Policy:
Part of being a blogger means that I am sometimes sent books for review.  I welcome requests from authors and publishers, and am always happy to receive advance copies of books for reviewing.  With a background in journalism, I am trained to write fair and non-bias reviews.  That being said, I am not a professional book reviewer, and all reviews are based on my personal taste and opinion.  I am just a college student who loves reading and love recommending books to other people like me.  I review all types of Young Adult books, including contemporary, adventure, sci-fi, fantasy, romance, mystery and thriller.  My favorite categories are dystopian and alternative reality literature.  I am also open to reviewing Adult Fiction, depending on the storyline and subject matter.  NO children's books and ABSOLUTELY NO erotica.  All books I review are either purchased by me, checked out from my local library, or were given to me to review.  In addition to my reviews on Anchored In A Book, I also post reviews on Amazon and Goodreads.  If I do not enjoy a book or am unable to finish a book for any reason, I will do my best to be as constructive and fair in writing a review and sharing my thoughts.  I do not accept monetary compensation for my reviews.

The kinds of books I review:
  • YA literature, sometimes Adult Fiction
  • The genres I mainly read are dystopian, alternative reality, contemporary and fantasy
  • I WILL NOT accept children's books or inappropriate adult books
  • I will accept books in paperback, hardback and Kindle format (Although paperbacks are the most convenient and preferred type)

What you can expect from my reviews:
  • My thoughts, opinions and a rating
  • A fair, non-bias review
  • Links to outside sites (e.g. Goodreads, Amazon, author's website)

When requesting a review, please make sure to include the following:
  • Your name (publisher and/or author)
  • Name of book
  • Book cover
  • Brief summary of book
  • Book release date
  • Links to applicable sites (e.g. Goodreads, Amazon, author's website)

Additional information:
  • Please keep in mind that I am in college and I work 30 hours a week.  Due to this, I am usually swamped all day Monday and Tuesday.  I do follow a reading schedule though, and will do my best to post my review within 1--2 weeks of receiving the book
  • For ARC, I will try to post reviews the week before or the week of the book's release date, unless requested otherwise by publisher/author
  • I do accept swag for myself and/or giveaways, but I won't accept anything in exchange for a better review (All reviews will be written fair and without bias)
  • I accept copies of books as giveaways for my readers.  Books can be either in physical or e-book format
  • I LOVE doing author and character interviews, and would be more than happy to conduct one if requested.  Interviews can be conducted in a manner that works best for the author (e.g. Email, phone, Skype)
  • I am more than happy to participate in blog tours, author interviews, guest posts and/or giveaways (Must be for a genre I read)
  • If I am unable to fit your book in, I am willing to do an author interview and/or chapter expert

- Absolutely perfect! I LOVED this book and highly recommend it.  I will buy this book, reread this book, badger everyone I know into reading this book, and will not stop until I                                    have shouted its praises from every corner of the world.  Not only do I own a copy of this                                    book, I probably hug it sometimes.

- Darn near perfect!  I really liked this book, and will recommend others to read it.  It had a few flaws, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it.  I will probably reread and/or purchase                                  this book in the future.

- It was okay.  I liked this book, but wasn't blown away or anything.  Will probably not be rereading or purchasing it anytime soon.

- "Meh..."  I at least finished this book.  It had some redeeming qualities, but I just didn't connect with it.  Definitely not for me.  I will absolutely not be rereading or purchasing this                                book.

 -  I don't want to talk about this one...  Let's just say that precious hours of my life were wasted reading this book and I would like them back, please and thank you.

- Didn't even finish this book, and struggled through whatever little portion I did manage to read.  I found absolutely no redeeming qualities to it, and will not wish this book on                                         even my worst enemy.
